AHCCCS Releases Two New Interactive Dashboards

Last month, AHCCCS launched two new interactive dashboards to better visualize and represent data in two main categories: Emergency Department Visits and Hospital Inpatient Admissions. These dashboards join the AHCCCS COVID-19 Dashboard that launched in 2022.

Emergency Department Visits Dashboard

The Emergency Department Visits Dashboard allows users to explore and interact with AHCCCS member data pertaining to emergency department utilization. The data is visualized into four main sections: About, ED Utilization, Demographic Comparison, and Primary Diagnoses. These sections display the data more insightfully to better communicate trends and important information.

Hospital Inpatient Admissions Dashboard

The Hospital Inpatient Admissions Dashboard displays AHCCCS member data pertaining to hospital inpatient admissions. The dashboard allows users to explore and interact with the data in a more insightful and visual way, which better communicates trends and important information. This dashboard contains five sections: About, Inpatient Admissions, Demographic Comparison, Primary Diagnoses, and Length of Stay.

These dashboards are available to help better communicate general information in a more visual presentation, but do not necessarily align with AHCCCS certified actuarial rates or official reporting.

“We are committed to evolving this agency to meet the needs of the more than two million Arizonans we serve, and our priority remains on health equity, access to care, quality care and the elimination of fraud in our program,” Heredia said.

The AHCCCS COVID-19 Dashboard was launched in 2022 and provides updated information about AHCCCS member vaccinations, also in a visual and interactive platform. The dashboard contains total members vaccinated, percentage of members vaccinated, and member vaccination rates by county.

All of these dashboards are available on the AHCCCS website.
