The Importance of Private Sector Partners
The AHCCCS mandatory managed care program was founded upon a competitive, public/private partnership model where all members (except American Indians/Alaska Natives enrolled in AIHP) are enrolled in private health plans for physical, behavioral, and long term care services.
These contractors do far more than simply pay claims. Today’s health plans use sophisticated data analytics tools to assess member risk and develop innovative intervention protocols. In addition, health plans engage their members in person-centered approaches.
This often means engaging families and communities too, so that members have the tools they need to manage their own health. This level of engagement also assists the health plan in developing strategies that respond to community needs.
