Clinical Nurse Specialist

Overview

Arizona is submitting a state plan amendment (SPA) to add Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) as a new provider type. As outlined in A.R.S. 32-1651, a CNS has limited prescribing/dispensing authority in specific healthcare settings. The list of codes for the CNS scope of practice is equal to provider type 19- Nurse Practitioner.
