Medicaid Guaranteed Enrollment Period
The first time a Medicaid customer is enrolled with a health plan, the customer is guaranteed six months of AHCCCS eligibility unless the customer:
- Moves out of state
- Is incarcerated
- Is adopted
- Was ineligible at the time of initial enrollment
- Voluntarily withdrawals
This one-time, six-month guarantee applies to a customer who is approved for the following programs:
- Adults - MA 401
- AHCCCS Freedom to Work (FTW) - MA 402
- Breast & Cervical Cancer Treatment Program - MA 404
- Caretaker Relative - MA 405
- Child - MA 406
- Pregnant Women - MA 410
- Supplemental Security Income Medical Assistance Only (SSI MAO) - MA 413
- Title IV-E - MA 414
- Young Adult Transitional Insurance (YATI) - MA 416
If the member was approved for a retroactive period of eligibility but was not approved ongoing and not enrolled, the member does not qualify for the guarantee period.
