KidsCare Expansion The Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) is requesting an amendment to the State’s current Demonstration project under section 1115 of the Social Security Act to seek authority to raise the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) eligibility thresholds from 200% of the federal poverty level (FPL) to 225% FPL. This separate CHIP program authorized under Title XXI of the Social Security Act, is also known in Arizona as “KidsCare.”
Parents as Paid Caregivers The Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) is requesting an amendment to the State’s current Demonstration project to allow for the permanent extension of payments to parents who serve as paid caregivers for minor children, previously allowed through a temporary COVID Appendix K flexibility. The Agency is also proposing to establish a home care training family support (family support) service as part of the HCBS benefit package detailed in “Attachment L” of the State’s approved STC document (Project Number 11-W-00275/9). 07/07/2023 08/21/2023
Former Foster Youth Annual Automatic Renewal The Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) is requesting an amendment to the 1115 Research and Demonstration Waiver, Project Number 11-W-00275/9, to seek authority to waive the condition of eligibility in 42 CFR 435.608 requiring Medicaid beneficiaries to apply for other cash benefits for the Former Foster Youth population. AHCCCS currently offers transitional medical care for children leaving foster care that are between the ages 18 to 26. 01/13/2023 02/27/2023
COVID-19 Federal Emergency Authorities Request On March 17, 2020, the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) submitted a request to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to waive certain Medicaid and KidsCare requirements to enable the State to combat the continued spread of 2019 novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
IMD Waiver Amendment The Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) is requesting an amendment to the 1115 Research and Demonstration Waiver to seek a waiver of the IMD exclusion for all Medicaid beneficiaries ages 21-64 regardless of delivery system, as a mechanism to increase access to residential treatment services across the State. 02/02/2017 03/20/2017
